Origin:
The Damascus Rose, of the Rosaceae family and Rosa genus, originated in the Kashan region of what is now Iran's Isfahan Province, spreading subsequently to Syria. It was during the Crusades that it was carried to Europe by the Crusaders, who had encountered it in Damascus, Syria, thus earning it the European moniker "Damascus Rose." Cultivation of this rose in France became widespread from the 14th century onward. This variety is the predominant rose cultivated in Bulgaria and is recognized worldwide as a premium rose species.
In 1984, China's Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade, in collaboration with the precursor to Shaanxi Hengfang Rose Development Co., Ltd., introduced the Bulgarian Damascus Rose, breeding a variant known as "Qinwei 1," which established Weinan as the Chinese birthplace of the Damascus rose.
Our product is made exclusively from the "Qinwei 1" variety (later renamed "Damascus Rose No.1"), which has been introduced and cultivated by the Hebei Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences in Hebei Province.
